π What is Imagery?
- Imagery means using descriptive words to
help readers see, hear, smell, taste, and feel what is happening.
- It makes writing come alive in your mind like a movie!
π️ The 5 Types of Imagery
1. π Visual Imagery (What you see)
- Helps you picture something in your mind.
- Example: The bright yellow sun peeked over the tall green mountains.
2. π Auditory Imagery (What you hear)
- Describes sounds.
- Example: The sizzling bacon popped and cracked in the pan.
3. π Olfactory Imagery (What you smell)
- Talks about scents.
- Example: The sweet smell of cookies filled the kitchen.

Gustatory Imagery (What you taste)
- Describes flavors.
- Example: The sour lemon made my mouth pucker.
5. ✋ Tactile Imagery (What you touch/feel)
- Talks about how something feels (texture
or temperature).
- Example: The rough blanket felt like sandpaper.

- Look for describing words about:
